I haven't played much of Final Fantasy VI because my emulator dies around 10 hours in. But now FFVI Advance is out and the prospects are looking better. I really like the characters in this game so far, they're all really charming and well-realized; it's surprising to me that because it was an earlier game I expected the characterization to be hit-or-miss but I've been pleasantly surprised in how much they all appeal to me in their own ways. The fandom is pretty small and fractured, but it's possible to find stuff—just have to dig a little. Since I'm not very far yet, canon knowledge is hit or miss because I'm trying my best to remain unspoilered. This just means my mind goes crazy with what I do know, and uh, that usually results in lots of boys snuggling.

Word on the street is that I might be applying peer pressure to friends who've played FFVI to write me Edgar/Locke porn. Granted, I'm only up to the part where one of the characters turns into a Popsicle and flies off into this distance, but it's—it's plausible. If you squint. SIDEWAYS. Of course, sometimes peer pressure backfires and you end up with this story, where she kindly made a special version just for me. I CAN TELL I AM SO LOVED. It made me laugh, though, and the story is good to me, looking in from outside a huge chunk of the canon. ♥ (Edgar, Locke)
