bottle of shine [bot-l · uhv · shahyn]

  1. A container holding illegal alcohol; moonshine.
  2. A jar of questionable yellow liquid; juice from a fangirl?
  3. A person, drunk on fandom, who continues producing work despite lack of talent, and succeeds in giving the entire internet fic hangovers.
  4. tl;dr

Where the heck am I?
This is my fanfic website, bottle of fic!, where I archive all the work I publish blatantly promote on my livejournal. Everything here originates from there, unfortunately for the internets; the black hole of good taste and respectibility.

I update here pretty often, but my updates page is hit-or-miss, and I'm more likely to announce new fic on my livejournal before reuploading the update list. Livejournal users can either friend me or track my posts (you can track by tag, like "fanfic: all", as well!). For non-users, my RSS feed is at http://bottle-of-shine.livejournal.com/data/rss/.

You know there's a glaring error on line #64 of [Story Title Here], right1?
Yes! I totally did, because I enjoy leaving typos and grammatical errors in my work for adventurous readers to—wait.

If you find an error, I would love to know about it! Feel free to drop me a line and alert me to the problem.

Why are there downloads of your stories?
Because once upon a time, some people said, "I read fanfic on my PDA, and I really wish more authors made an effort to provide copies that don't have to be read while online and/or at the computer!" So, because I have no life, that's what I started doing with my popular stories2. I also have a special stylesheet for printers, too! Go on, try to print a story; isn't that pretty and neat and most importantly, black and white? I know I like my website colors and my fancy navigation, but printer abuse has gone on too long!

And that's the long and the short of it (but mostly long; yes, that's right—I never shut up). Any questions can be e-mailed me to me at bottle.of.shine@gmail.com. Feel free to write anytime (especially if it's about one of my stories, because I am greedy).

On using the material on this website:

This work is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial 3.0 License. You may adapt, remix, or reproduce any of my work in any way, shape, or form, as long as you include a reference to http://www.echthroi.org/fanfic/ and let me know at bottle.of.shine@gmail.com, subject: Fanfiction Remix/Reproduction.

If that makes no sense: feel free to write fanfic based off all my stories, distribute the downloadable files, or review stories by sampling the text. If you do so, I would love to see what you come up with (hence the notification requirement, which is not meant to be restrictive, just a pointer).

1real question I was really asked by a real person. Really.

2I measure popularity by my stats and what stories have the most hits, not by my own overinflated sense of importance. Swear.
